Lose the Baby Fat Diet

This is honestly going to be my first REAL diet and I have to say that I am scared, but excited:)  Of course you always try your best to eat good food, but at this point I need an actual plan.  I just need to get back down to where I was before I had my super cute son, so 30 pounds is my goal.  Yep I gained way too much when I was pregnant...50 pounds!  Yikes!  This is all very embarrassing to share, but I need to put the truth out there so that I am embarrassed enough to make some good changes.

eww let's start this diet...

So the diet that I found sounds like it will be a good starting point and then I can take more drastic measures if needed in the future.  It is called the Slow Carb Diet.  Here are the basic rules:

1.  Avoid White Carbohydrates (or anything white)
2.  Eat the same few meals over and over
3.  Don't drink calories
4.  Don't eat fruits
5.  No dairy
6.  One day off per week and go nuts!

The part that I like about this diet is I can have a day off each week and in the book it is actually encouraged!  Yippee!

So today was my first day on the job.

For breakfast I had 2 eggs, some re-fried beans and some franks hot sauce to give it a kick:) Oh and water because you can't forget the water with any diet!

For lunch we went to Sweet Tomatoes for one of my mom's friend's birthday celebration.  I had spinach leaves, kidney/red beans, cucumbers, banana peppers, broccoli and balsamic vinegar as the dressing. Yum!

For dinner I had black beans, fish, and stuff called broccoli slaw.

I thought I would be way more hungry and that this would be way hard because I really love bread and you can't have any until your one day off a week, but I think the beans have done a great job at replacing that craving for carbs.  Yay!  Day one down!  I think I can do this and I am excited to check my measurements at the end of the week to see if I made any progress.

Just a little side note for people who do weight watchers.  I calculated the points for today's meals and it was only 16 points for the whole day!! Score!

The best foods that you can eat are listed below:

Protiens:
eggs
chicken
beef
fish
pork

Legumes:
lentils
black beans
pinto beans
red beans
soy beans
Beans are a very key part to this diet because they will help to fill you up so you are not hungry in between meals:) Oh and you can eat refried beans and many have had success with them.

Vegetables:
spinach
mixed veggies
Sauerkraut
asperagus
peas
broccli
green beans

So this is the gist of it!  If you have any questions feel free to comment and I will go more in depth if you are wondering about a certain part of this diet:)
